Good morning and thank you for coming back to visit us here at the Teelie Turner Author blog. This week we’re going to be exploring how you can create a pirate themed reading room. Teelie Turner has a magical book coming out within the next few days called “The Adventures of Pirate Pete and the Lost Fairy Treasure”. Keep watching for updates regarding its release.

Place a Pirate Throw Blanket on a Chair

A throw blanket would make a great addition to a pirate themed reading room. And, Pirate Pete actually has his own collection of merchandise that includes a perfect blanket. Some of Pirate Pete’s friends also have collections of merchandise that have great items for you to choose from too. You can find Pirate Pete’s blanket on Redbubble.   You can put the blanket over a chair or couch to display your pirate theme.

Get a Pirate Poster

Having a pirate poster on the wall of your pirate themed reading room is another great option. We decided to show you one featuring Pirate Pete. It can be found on Redbubble.

Display A Metal Pirate Print

Pirate Pete’s brother Peppin is another friendly pirate fairy. His collection of merchandise features a metal print that would look great in your pirate themed reading room. You can find it on Redbubble.

Frame a Pirate Print

Or, perhaps you would rather have a framed art print on your wall. Peppin the Pirate Fairy as well as our other pirate fairies have this available for you in their collections of merchandise on Redbubble.

Use Pirate Bookmarks

Pirate bookmarks are another way to add the pirate theme to your reading room. You can use a bookmark in the book that you’re reading and also find a way to display other bookmarks in the room. Perhaps, they are placed on a filing cabinet with a magnet or arranged artistically in a vase or pen holder. You can find some pirate bookmarks on Etsy.

Use Bookends – For Children

If your pirate themed reading room is being created as an incentive to get children to read, we found some cute bookends that would work well for you. They feature pirate bears and can be found on Etsy.

Use Bookends – Another Option

Another option for bookends that we found can be used in a pirate themed reading room for children or adults. These bookends feature an octopus and a pirate ship. They are available on Etsy.

Create a Mural

Creating a pirate themed mural is another amazing idea for a pirate reading room. We found this one that is often used for a child’s bedroom or nursery but could also be used in a reading room. It is peel and stick and can be found on Etsy.
