A Heart-Warming Halloween Tale
‘The Little Kitten’, written and illustrated by Nicola Killen is a sweet and heartwarming story about a lost kitten at Halloween. This book is very inviting and includes several special features to encourage you and your child to continue turning the pages until you reach the end. Find it on Amazon.
A Halloween to Remember
There is a good chance that you have heard of Clifford the Big Red Dog before. He is quite well known in children’s books and as an animated series on television. The Clifford series written by Norman Bridwell explores Halloween a few times. We decided to share with you ‘Clifford’s First Halloween’. Find this book and other Clifford stories on Amazon. Did you know that in the French series of Clifford books, he is called Bertrand?
Halloween with Friends
The Franklin series of books written by Paulette Bourgeois and illustrated by Brenda Clark also have a long running history in print and on television. ‘Franklin’s Halloween’ includes the story of a ghost and a Halloween party. It can be found on Amazon. The Franklin book series can also be found on French, but in those, Franklin’s name is Benjamin.
The Best Halloween
‘Corduroy’s Best Halloween Ever!’ written by Don Freeman and illustrated by Lisa McCue is another adorable Halloween book. In this one, Corduroy has lots of Halloween traditions to enjoy but he needs to figure out what his Halloween costume is going to be. If You Give a Mouse…
‘It’s Pumpkin Day, Mouse!’ by Laura Numeroff and illustrated by Felicia Bond is another incredible story in the ‘If You Give a Mouse…’ series. The best known is perhaps ‘If you Give a Mouse a Cookie.’ In the Halloween story there is a missing pumpkin when it comes time to decorate them. Find it on Amazon for a chance to discover what happens and be inspired by autumn crafts.
Trick or Treating Fun
‘Pete the Cat: Trick or Treat’ is written and illustrated by James and Kimberly Dean is also available on Amazon. This book has flaps that lift making it an enhanced reading experience. Some children and parents will be familiar with Pete the Cat from his other books. In this one, he is going to enjoy the magic of trick-or-treating.
A Little Truck’s Halloween
Is it possible for a little truck to celebrate Halloween? It is for the Little Blue Truck. ‘Little Blue Truck’s Halloween’ is available on Amazon and was written by Alice Schertle and illustrated by Jill McElmurry. In this festive Halloween book, Little Blue Truck is transporting his friends to a Halloween party. They’re all in costume. Read this cute story to discover what they’re wearing and if Little Blue Truck dresses up or not.
Halloween Through the Generations
‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’ by Charles M. Schulz is a story that has been enjoyed for generations. The Peanuts characters have been around for over fifty years. You can find this Halloween book about the great pumpkin, and other Charlie Brown and Peanuts books on Amazon.
